The Employee Provident Fund (PF) scheme is a reliable savings avenue that was set up by the government to help salaried Indians plan for retirement. For claiming your PF funds after retirement or for partial withdrawal from your PF corpus, you need to raise a request to the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Once you have requested PF withdrawal, there are chances that you may not be able to know the status of your request. To solve this problem, the EPFO has launched an online process that will help you with your PF status.

By visiting the EPFO portal
The simplest and the most convenient way to check your PF status is through the EPFO portal. Login on the EPFO website using your UAN number and password. Once you are in, go to the ‘our services’ tab and choose ‘for employees’. Now, click on the ‘services’ button and select the ‘know your claim status’ option. You will now be redirected to the claim status link. Here, you need to enter the state of your PF office and select your PF office from the list. Now, enter your establishment code and EPF account number. Click on the ‘submit’ button and you will get the status of your PF claim. By using the UMANG application
The Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) is a mobile application that gives you access to pan India e-government services including EPF details. All you have to do is click on the EPFO tab on the UMANG application. Now, select the ‘employee centric services’ option and then choose the ‘track claim’ option. Enter the UAN number and password to check PF status Online with ease!
By using the SMS or missed call service
To check your PF status without any website or application, use the SMS or missed call service. If your UAN is already registered with the EPFO, you can check your PF status easily. Simply send an SMS ‘EPFOHO UAN’ to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number. You can avail this facility in English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, and others. You can also check PF status by giving a missed call on 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. To carry out this process, make sure that your UAN is linked with your PAN card, Aadhaar and EPF account number.
